About Sarah Perkins

I am an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, with over 25 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.

As a Chartered Accountant, my work included copy editing and proofreading statutory accounts, contracts, memoranda of understanding, and other financial and legal documents.  I worked with organisations of all sizes from KPMG, Next, and Tarmac to corner shops. People came to me when they needed help with drafting other documents, which has lead to a second career.

I provide excellent customer service, turning around documents to a tight time-scale when needed.  I have a consistent track record for delivering projects on time and within budget, and can work in a way that suits you and your project.  I will not interfere with your individual style, but will add polish to the finished result, ensuring your work gains the respect it deserves.

Skills and interests

I have a range of skills from my career and hobbies:

  • Working with business related documents including statutory reports, summaries for decision makers, training materials and brochures.
  • Ghost writing financial articles for the press.
  • Publishing several knitting patterns in magazines.

I have a City & Guilds diploma in hand knit design. As you can see from my craft website, I have many years of experience in a variety of crafts. I have always been interested in history, archaeology, and the arts, particularly music. You can find out more about me on my links page.

I welcome work in most subject areas, except for science and medicine.

British English is my first language.
